Meditation for Wednesday of the 5th Week of Lent

First Reading: Daniel 3:14-20, 91-92, 95
Responsorial Psalm: Daniel 3:52, 53, 54, 55, 56
Gospel: John 8:31-42

It is important to note that we are slaves in this world of sin.  However, we are not alone.  We are freed by the Son who is still with us, for, "A slave does not remain in a household forever, but a son always remains."  Jesus remains in this household in order to save us, until we are transfered from this household to the Kingdom of Heaven.  As evidenced in the readings from the Book of Daniel, the Son has always been with us, to free us from sin and those that wish to cause us to sin.

Have you ever stayed in a place longer than you would have wanted, in order to help someone else out?  Is there anybody that you can think of that needs you where you are?
